This young indie pop rock band from Sydney The Citizens are gearing up to play at one of the city’s coolest venues. They’ll go head to head at The Lair with seven other local acts in an attempt to get through to the later stages of the competition. As the nerves are building up before the show tomorrow Wednesday, April 9th, Emergenza sits down to find out more about who The Citizens are.

WHAT’S THE INSPIRATION FOR THE NAME THE CITIZENS?
The name came from a Ball Park Music song, called "Happy Healthy Citizens of the Developed World Blues".

IF YOU COULD DESCRIBE YOUR SOUND IN THREE WORDS, WHAT WOULD THEY BE?
Indie pop rock.

CAN YOU INTRODUCE US TO THE MEMBERS OF THE BAND?
The Citizens are Lewis Clark on vocals and guitar, Sachin Burns on BV's and guitar, Joey Reinhard, BV's and bass, and Ben Munro on drums.

WHAT DOES PERFORMING LIVE MEAN TO YOU?
It's so hard to find gigs, especially being under the age of 18. So playing live is swell when we get the chance!

WHERE HAVE YOU PLAYED BEFORE AND WHAT WOULD YOUR DREAM GIG BE?
We have played in and around Bondi, At The Metro Theatre supporting The Cairos, Sutherland Entertainment Centre, Bondi Beach.
