Kicking off Round One Concerts at The Lair in Sydney

The Lair to be the first venue in Sydney to open its doors to Emergenza Festival Australia 2014 with two concerts April 9th and 10th

Emergenza Festival Australia is back again in the nation’s capital city, and once again it’s The Lair at The Metro Theatre in Sydney who helps us host the round one concerts.

This coming week we’ve got a killer line up of Emergenza hopefuls ready and raring to hit the stage at The Lair for round one of the festival.

And we’re keeping up our reputation of being an all-inclusive, no genre discrimination, no-holds-barred kind of festival, with bands coming from all sorts of different backgrounds.

On Wednesday, April 9th eight local Sydney bands will have their chance at rocking the stage in the hopes of getting the votes to make it through to the later rounds. First up, it’s the alternative rock of Excuse My French (a.k.a. XMF), then comes fun loving eclectic rockers Don’t Hit Ron, the indie pop rock of The Citizens, folk rock five-piece Citizen of the World, the fresh new sound of Pretty Rosco, the heavy psych delirium of Er Among the Ether, the sweet vocal harmonies of WITH FOX, and to close the show the blues rock psychedelia of The Wiseman’s Circus.

On Thursday, April 10th The Phazes will be the first to hit the stage followed by the electric indie tunes of Gone Electric, singer songwriter Emma Quee, Indie rockers The Cat Nappers, the aggressive, fast-paced rock of Brace For Whiplash, the alt-rock-meets-folk of Little Hart, hard and heavy Larry Leadfoot, and indie funk rockers Jagged Jayne.

Click on the name of each band to read a professional pre-show interview where we talk music with the bands and see what they’re doing to prepare for the gig.
