Hardcore band from Sydney Larry Leadfoot sit down to talk to us before they go on stage at The Lair for round one of Emergenza Festival Australia. They tell us where they get the inspiration for their name and where they get their inspiration from to play such wickedly heavy tunes. WHAT’S THE INSPIRATION FOR THE NAME LARRY LEADFOOT?
It's from The Simpsons.

WHO PLAYS WHAT IN THE BAND AND WHAT KEEPS YOU INSPIRED TO PLAY MUSIC TOGETHER AS A BAND?
Nick plays drums, Aaron plays guitar, Tom plays bass and Tama is the vocalist. What inspires us in the vibe we get when we are playing together basically.

IF YOU COULD DESCRIBE YOUR SOUND IN THREE WORDS, WHAT WOULD THEY BE?
Monstrous, dark, heavier.

WHAT ARE SOME OF YOUR MUSICAL AND NON-MUSICAL INSPIRATIONS?
Musical – Nick has had the opportunity to learn from his childhood hero Danny Heifetz, which has inspired him immensely, and listening to all kinds of music. Non-musical – art, skateboarding, fishing and nature.

WHERE HAVE YOU PLAYED BEFORE AND WHAT WOULD YOUR DREAM GIG BE?
We have played around Sydney as well as out at Orange and Katoomba. Our dream gig would be to play at Download in the UK.

HOW ARE YOU PREPARING FOR THE SHOW AT THE LAIR?
We are training up our new bass player who has given us a breath of fresh air, and rehearsing with him has been inspiring and fun.

WITH OTHER BATTLE OF THE BANDS COMPETITIONS AROUND, WHAT MADE YOU CHOOSE EMERGENZA?
It seemed like the most professional.
