    Talking Music with Gone Electric

Before they hit the stage for round one at The Lair Sydney band Gone Electric sits down to talk to us about their musical inspirations and dreams

Gone Electric are just about to take their soulful electric indie tunes to the stage at The Lair in Sydney for round one of Emergenza Festival Australia. But before they go on, they take the time to talk to us about their musical influences and what’s motivating them for their upcoming live gig. Be at The Lair next Thursday, April 10th, and in the meantime, check out our preshow interview with the band.

WHAT’S THE INSPIRATION FOR THE NAME GONE ELECTRIC?
A band we are influenced by had a song named “Electric Concentric”, and we got inspired, and that's where we got the name Gone Electric.

WHO PLAYS WHAT IN THE BAND?
Tash is on vocals and guitar, Ben is on bass, Ramona is our backing vocals on drums/guitar, and Lex is our lead guitarist/drummer.

WHAT ARE SOME OF YOUR MUSICAL AND NON-MUSICAL INSPIRATIONS?
Dance a la Plage, Little Comets, The Jungle Giants.

WHAT KEEPS YOU INSPIRED TO PLAY MUSIC TOGETHER AS A BAND?
Playing music together is fun and love the feeling when we get to play live but practicing and jamming away is always heaps of fun.

WHERE HAVE YOU PLAYED BEFORE AND WHAT WOULD YOUR DREAM GIG BE?
We have played Blymp at Bondi Beach and Youthrock in Sutherland, but our dream gig would be to play at Glastonbury.

HOW ARE YOU PREPARING FOR THE SHOW AT THE LAIR?
We have been practicing heaps lately and promoting it trying to get heaps of people to come make the night even more enjoyable.

WITH OTHER BATTLE OF THE BANDS COMPETITIONS AROUND, WHAT MADE YOU CHOOSE EMERGENZA?
We know some bands who have played Emergenza like Go Mason Go and decided to give it a go.
