This Weekend The Espy in Melbourne Opens its Doors for Emergenza

The Espy helps kick off round one of Emergenza Festival Australia 2014 with two fantastic nights of local music

Emergenza Festival Australia is back for another year. And this time it’s The Espy in Melbourne who help us kick off our very first concerts of the season.

This weekend we’ve got a stellar line up of Emergenza hopefuls ready and raring to hit the stage at The Espy Basement for round one of the festival.

And this year there’s no shortage of diversity on the festival front. We’ve got bands that play anything from electro hip hop to folk to funk rock and everything in between.

On Saturday, March 29th eight local Melbourne bands will be the first through the festival gates. Taking the stage on Saturday it’s the ethereal rock of Mantis and the Prayer, hardcore band Amethyst Close, the explosive punk rock of Intoxicated Memories, electro hip hop duo Kae iLL Quintin, funk rockers Midnight Shifter, booze rockers GUZZLER, the ethnic folk of Dojo Collectors, and Certified Hot rapper OgLivion.

On Sunday, March 30th it’s hip hop twins FLAXXON, pop punkers Learn 2 Fly, grrrl rockers Wild Violet, singer songwriter Absent Minded Daze, the high energy rock of The Moral Panics, sensational acoustic guitarist Nathan Varga, and the super sweet blues rock of Dr Malone.

Click on the name of each band to read a professional review of their music and to get an idea of what’s in store for this weekend.

It’s going to be a weekend like no other—two concerts and two fantastic opportunities to not only support your local music but rock out to some fine tunes while you’re at it.
