Boys look out, it’s Wild Violet

Don’t let the sweet personas fool you, these young girls really know how to rock and they’re going to bring it to The Espy this Sunday

As the name suggests, these girls are all about breaking down the door of conformity and being as wild as they want. And they’ve got the musical chops to back it up. With Octavia on lead vocals, Angelica on Guitar and backing vocals, Alicia on bass & backing vocals, and Niyoosha on drums, these girls create the perfect sizzling mix of high-energy rock and roll. Self-described as heavy, vintage, rock and roll, they take influence from bands like Black Sabbath, KISS, and The Runaways to produce original songs so full of attitude they nearly burst at the seams. And the look of this all girl rock band? Let’s just say they could have been ripped out of the pages of an issue of Rolling Stone circa 1987.

Check out their demo track “Sweet N’ Sour” on their Triple J Unearthed page to get a better idea of what these girls are all about. Randy Rhoads infused riffs, machine gun bass and percussion section, topped off with the cherry bomb of a vocalist. Don’t miss your next chance to see Wild Violet live at The Espy where they battle it out against six other Melbourne bands in round one of Emergenza Festival Australia. They’re going to light the stage on fire.
