New to performing, ambient electro hip hop duo from Melbourne KAE iLL Quintin is looking forward to sharing all of the creativity and work that’s gone into their original material with a brand new crowd. Make sure to come out to see them on stage at The Espy for round one of Emergenza Festival Australia this Saturday, March 29th. WHAT’S THE INSPIRATION FOR THE NAME KAE ILL QUINTIN?
We never intended to use my true name in music, and Quintin had that androgynous intrigue I was in a way looking for, so I thought, why not? Where as KAE iLL started from my name, Kyle Lochner and I used my initials K. L. But KAE iLL sounded better.

IF YOU COULD DESCRIBE YOUR SOUND IN THREE WORDS, WHAT WOULD THEY BE?
KAE iLL Quintin.

WHO PLAYS WHAT IN THE BAND, AND WHAT'S YOUR LIVE SET UP LIKE?
We both do a bit of everything in the writing process, but essentially Quintin writes the vocals and K writes the music.

WHAT DOES PERFORMING LIVE MEAN TO YOU?
Performance is something new for the both of us, so in response we say... performing live is allowing people to hear something new and creative. It's a passion that must be shared.

WHERE HAVE YOU PLAYED BEFORE AND WHAT WOULD YOUR DREAM GIG BE?
We've played at an art opening and Revolver, which were both incredible! A dream gig would be... playing in front of 30,000 people in Germany, hahaha!

HOW ARE YOU PREPARING FOR YOUR UPCOMING GIG AT THE ESPY?
We're not... No, no, jokes! We're mainly working on the songs making them as great as they can be by the performance date.

WHAT MADE YOU SIGN UP TO PLAY EMERGENZA FESTIVAL?
Well K and myself are starting out as a duo, so given the opportunity to play at not only The Espy but also other venues allows us to further expand our audience and musical experience.
