Emergenza Finals to be Held at The Hi-Fi in Melbourne

The Hi-Fi will be alive with local music on December 8th when it plays host to fourteen bands, all battling it out in the regional finals of the Emergenza Festival

For the fourteen local Melbourne bands that have made it to the Emergenza finals, it’s all coming down to the wire. They’ve played their hearts out all season long – and in just a short time, they’ll find out if it all paid off. The bands may come from a whole spectrum of musical genres, but all of the fourteen finalists now gearing up to hit the stage at The Hi-Fi in Melbourne on December 8th have one thing in common: they’re laying it all out on the line for the finals at The Hi-Fi.

As far as the music goes, we’ve got Melbourne’s best – everything from hardcore, metal and punk to prog rock, folk and indie. Cryptic Abyss plans to represent the hardcore with their brutal metal sound. Well-known local band Mercury White plan to bust out with some brand new indie pop material. The Fallen Angels will bring it with their fiery rock and roll while prog band At the Age of 440 plan to put on yet another one of their dramatic stage performances. Folk artist James Caddy will shock his crowd with his musical purity and sweet melodies and The Children of the New Forest will inspire new fans with their primitive indie psychedelia. All girl seven-piece Kid Sidney will show off their perfect indie pop formula whereas Nikhail will show the crowd how to really groove with their pure rock and roll riffs. Salad Days will rock their crowd with their upbeat melodies and crooner style vox while all girl three-piece Tequila Mockingbyrd will their shake them and break them with their raging grrrl rock energy. Poppy will get her crowd bouncing to the rhythm of her heavy dance beats. Twin Ages will bring nothing but solid blues riffs and high energy to the stage while singer songwriter Melissa James will shine with the support of her superb back up band, and the City Sharps will have the market cornered on all those old school rock and roll souls.

This incredible line-up of local bands will strive to put their individual stamp on the stage at The Hi-Fi – all in hopes of getting one final step closer to the international finals of the Emergenza Festival. Come on down and get your votes in for your favourite local bands. It’s going to be an unforgettable night for local music. Be there.
