The Sweet Vox and Indie Vibe of Limbo Sanctuary

Indie three-piece Limbo Sanctuary can’t wait to showcase some of their newly re-worked original material on stage at The Factory Theatre on the 7th

Limbo Sanctuary are an indie pop rock trio that’s been together for just about a year now. Among their influences they count artists like Bon Iver, Fiona Apple, Hole, Jeff Buckley, and Mumford & Sons. According to the band, “if you have a good melody you're more than half way to a complete song”. And I don’t think anyone would disagree with that.

The emphasis they put on melody, combined with the emotionally driven lyrics of the two singers, where they explore depression, anxiety, and empathy, as well as elation and happiness, gives them an edge, which allows them to connect on a primitive, emotional level with their audience. They’ve just recorded their first demo and are pumped about getting back into the studio and fine-tuning it. For now, you can check out a live video of their last performance where they sing their original “Fisher & Pykell”. This song really showcases the laid back approach to their rootsy instrumentation as well as the undeniable emotional impact of the female vocalist, whose sweet tone carries the listener as if on a cloud right through the song.

They’ve been reworking much of their original material, and will have a few changes up their sleeves that’ll keep their new fans on their toes, and they can’t wait to show off the changes and the growth the band has gone through since the first round of the festival. They go on stage next at The Factory Theatre for the semi-finals on the 7th. Don’t miss out on Limbo Sanctuary.
