Awaking the “Bad, Bad Girl” in all of us with Angel Awake

Hard rock band from Sydney puts forth a killer single as a taster to their upcoming seven-song EP as well as to their next live gig at The Factory Theatre on the 2nd

Like many great rock and roll bands, the backstory of Angel Awake involves an encounter with the devil himself. But this one doesn’t involve anyone selling their souls. It involves a meeting of the minds between the characters of the Devil and the Angel, to create a mega-production that explores, through rock and roll music, the duality of human existence.

With powerful male and a female lead vocals, backed up by technical, melodic hard rock, they definitely have a unique dynamic, that is not easy to come across often. They take their influence from bands like Three Days Grace, Staind, Korn, Evanescence, Green Day, Grinspoon, Seether, Disturbed and Metallica. Other big inspirations especially for Moggy are Blondie, Joan Jett and Pat Benatar and the most common artist she is compared to is the late, great Chrissy Amphlette from The Divinyls. You can stream a demo of theirs “In Your Eyes”, which showcases the power behind their melodic chorus’. But the real kicker is the single that they just officially release ,“Bad, Bad Girl”, recorded at Electric Sun Studios in Blacktown, which really showcases their rock and roll attitude, with a story about a rebellious girl who does what the f*ck she wants. It does beckon the question as to just how angelic this “angel” frontwoman really is!

This song is just the first in line for their seven-song EP that they’ll be releasing soon. They say there’s an electric chemistry onstage between the Devil and the Angel, probably partly due to their real life romance. In between gigs, they’ve been busy with studio recording and photo shoots, but don’t think they’re losing focus on the semi-finals. They’re in it to win it and are super pumped to set the stage on fire at The Factory Theatre for the semi-finals on the 2nd.
