Eclectic Tunes from Nothin But Jam

This Sydney band showcases their Latin heritage and their love for jazzy soft rock in their original tunes, and they can’t wait to bring them to the stage at The Factory Theatre

Two seconds into the first listen of any one of their songs, you understand where they came up with the name. Nothin But Jam takes on a funky, almost improvisational element to their sound, which all comes together in their climatic pop chorus’. Being together for around five years, it’s no wonder they gel so well as musicians.

Self-described as “smooth rock with Latin soul”, Nothin But Jam showcase their Latin heritage, with songs in Spanish, but take you on a journey through different sounds from funky licks to jazz upstrokes to soft rock grooves to a full power pop sound, and one is just as enjoyable as the next. And they switch it up with two different singers. The female singer has got a super soulful voice, which she lets go every once in a while in a wild scat or vocal run to close out a phrase, and just as easily transitions to a breathy soft rock sound. The male voice has a real rootsy feel, which brings a light, positive vibe to their tunes. In the five songs that you can stream on their Facebook band page, you can hear a unique mix of the musical influences they pull from artists like Jason Mraz, Crowded House, and Cat Stevens.

They’ve already made it through the first round of the Emergenza Festival and can’t wait to bring their eclectic sound to the stage once again – this time for the semi-finals at The Factory Theatre on the 2nd. You won’t want to miss the amazing groove of Nothin But Jam.
