A Quick Chat Before the Show with Ready For The Fall

Ready For The Fall is busy honing their live performance for the semi-finals at The Factory Theatre in Sydney on the 2nd but just manage to squeeze in a quick chat with Emergenza before the show

Ready For The Fall keeps it short and sweet in this pre-show interview. They’re certainly busy rehearsing and writing new material for their upcoming gig, where they’re set to battle it out alongside eight other incredible bands to gain a spot in the finals of the Emergenza Festival. But, before they hit the stage at The Factory Theatre on the 2nd, they find just enough time for a quick chat.

CAN YOU INTRODUCE US TO YOUR BAND READY FOR THE FALL? WHO ARE SOME OF YOUR INFLUENCES?

Ready For The Fall is made up of Kevin on lead vocals and guitar, Ryan on bass, Rhys on drums and scream vocals, and Kane on lead guitar and backing vocals. Some of our influences are: Escape The Fate, A Day To Remember, Asking Alexandria, Trivium, and Black Veil Brides.

WHO WRITES THE SONGS AND WHAT ARE THEY ABOUT? WHAT'S YOUR CREATIVE PROCESS LIKE?

Kane and Kevin are the primary songwriters for most of the songs. However, each member is usually responsible for different aspects of each song - Kane with the guitar riffs, Kevin with the harmonies and vocal melodies, Ryan with breakdowns, and Rhys with the drums and rhythms.

WHICH ONE OF YOUR SONGS DO YOU FEEL SPEAKS TO THE FANS AND REPRESENTS THE BAND THE BEST?

    “True Calling”.

WHAT WAS THE HIGHLIGHT OF THE FIRST ROUND FOR YOU?

Playing to a large audience, and using a bass drop and intro track for the first time.

WHAT HAVE YOU BEEN UP TO BETWEEN GIGS AND WHAT HAVE YOU BEEN DOING TO PREPARE FOR THE NEXT PHASE OF THE COMPETITION?
Finding a good balance between playing shows and allocating time to write more material, which will give us more songs to choose from when preparing a set list for upcoming gigs.

IN WHAT WAY DO YOU THINK YOU'VE GROWN AS A BAND SINCE YOU FIRST ENROLLED IN THE FESTIVAL?

We've been getting a lot more experience playing in front of an audience. We are also more comfortable on stage as well as networking and making friends with other bands we've played with.

SO HOW DOES IT FEEL BEING ONE STEP CLOSER TO THE EMERGENZA FINALS?

It's an exciting feeling to know what we are capable of and are looking forward to what Emergenza has to offer for us.

HOW ARE YOU PLANNING TO PROMOTE FOR YOUR UPCOMING GIG?

Starting a Facebook event page and spreading the word to all our fans.

WHAT ARE YOU LOOKING FORWARD TO THE MOST ABOUT THIS ROUND IN THE SEMI-FINALS?

Performing on stage in such a prominent venue and simply just having fun on stage.

WHAT MADE YOU DECIDE TO ENROLL IN THE EMERGENZA FESTIVAL?

To get more exposure as a band and to get our band name out there.
