SEVERANCE: Crushing Bones Everywhere They Go

This super technical metal band from Sydney puts on a blistering show with their bone-crushing original song at The Factory Theatre the 20th

Going as far back as high school, when they first started jamming out, these musicians have had plenty of time to hone their sound. Back in 2012, when they joined forces with the current bassist and vocalist, they decided to shed their old name Necropolis, and the band Severance was finally born. Since that time, the six of them have been crushing skulls everywhere they go with their highly technical mix of, as they say, “brutal breakdowns, melodic chorus’ and progressive metal passages”. Among their influences they count: Trivium, Metallica, Meshuggah, Lamb of God, Gojira and Dream Theater. Their song "Betrothed to an Early Grave", which you can stream on their Soundcloud, is a perfect example of the themes that they explore in their original blistering metal creations, which are ancient mythology, the idea of a final judgment, and dystopia, among others.

Recently they’ve been spending tons of time in the studio in an attempt to improve their capacity for crushing bones with their every step, by creating new, high quality material. Severance has been concentrating on honing the best explosive metal sound possible, both in and out of the studio, in order to get the best reaction out of their audience as possible, and they are super-psyched for their upcoming gig at The Factory Theatre, where they plan to play in front of the biggest audience of their career so far. Don’t miss a chance to witness it for yourself. The Factory Theatre. This Sunday. It’s going to be bloody.
