AKUMAS KINDER Combining Thrash, Prog Metal and Post Hardcore

This band calls themselves by many sub-genre names, but every single one is just as hard hitting as the other

Akumas Kinder are a four-piece heavy rock act from Sydney. This band goes as far back as highschool, where they bonded over their mutual love for bands like Metallica, Trivium, Machine Head, Karnivool, and Tool. As a band, they combine their influences into a heavy hitting mix of thrash, prog metal and post hardcore. The themes in many of their songs are based around, as they say, “the human condition and the conscious knowledge of doing wrong while harming people and the earth around us”. They say they try to write music both for themselves as well as for others so that there is something in each song that everyone can enjoy, even if they are not fans of heavy music. Hmm… advocates for the blitzing, shredding, hard core metal scene, are they? I think they wouldn’t mind taking on that title.

One of the biggest aspects this Sydney band enjoys about their performances is the rapport they have with their audience, and I’m sure they wouldn’t mind converting a few of them into metal heads. Since the first round in the competition, they ‘ve been gigging as much as possible and even managed to get put on the bill with headliners Twelve Foot Ninja, which was a huge step for them. They’ve been writing new material recently, which they’re hoping to debut on the 19th at The Factory Theatre for the semi-finals. Don’t miss out on seeing this amazing band. Akumas Kinder will blow your minds and possible even convert you to their cause.
