    RIVER.STONE.HAZE Take Sydney by Storm

Reformed Brisbane band, River.Stone.Haze., are now Sydney to the core, and can’t wait for their chance to rock The Factory Theatre in the Sydney semi-final heat

These guys moved all the way from Brisbane just for the chance to rock out Sydney. Founded back in 2007, the band kicked off their career in Brisbane, gigging regularly and even releasing their debut self-titled EP. After several lineup changes, they’ve finally settled in Sydney, and are just finding their new groove, with their new line-up and their new surroundings. The time that it’s taken them to get back on their feet as a band really gave them the perspective they needed to identify themselves as artists. Now, there’s real cohesion in the project. Certain elements of their sound may be credited to their musical influences, bands like Soundgarden and Pearl Jam. But you can listen through all nine songs on their Facebook band page, and each one is distinctly their own.

They’ve got a really full sound, filling it out their arrangements with acoustic and electric guitars, bass, keys and of course vocals. The keys play a big part of their sound, which gives many of their songs an epic quality. Their standout piece is probably “Break Out” which starts out with an intricate pattern on the keys, and then zooms into a power rock groove with amazing licks on the bass, great rhythmic changes, and, of course, not to leave out the incredible power crunch guitar solo. They’ve practised their songs inside and out, and are 100% ready to rock out at the Factory Theatre on the 19th of October. Don’t miss out on the opportunity to see this incredible band.
