    After the Dark Comes ATTICUS

Melbourne band made up entirely of ex-members of the well-loved After Dark have kept all that was good about the old project but switched it up with the talents of a young female vocalist

After the dark period of Melbourne band After Dark was finally over, Atticus came along to bring the light. Made up entirely of remnants from their former band, Atticus improves on what they began and takes on a new, original sound. The biggest change? Well, probably the “charismatic and wildly talented” female singer, Alex Samulenok. As for the rest, they maintained the pop punky rhythm section and melancholy, yet epic tunes, pulling their influence from bands like Blink 182, The Killers, Muse, and The Foo Fighters. While they may just be getting their start, these guys are no amateurs.

They’ve already managed to rock the crowd at The Espy during the first round of the Emergenza Festival, and they plan to do it again. They hit the stage on the 19th at The Espy along with nine other bands in order to battle it out for the semi-finals. And, watch out, this band has their eyes set on the finals. On their Facebook band page, you can stream an acoustic version of one of their original songs “Tomorrow”. The sweet guitar riffing and heartfelt vocal harmonies should definitely get you excited about going to see this band. As they say, they’re “definitely a band to keep your eye out for”. So come out to The Espy on the 19th
