The Incredibly Moving Indie Folk of KIDDO

Family band from Melbourne, Kiddo, shows us you don’t have to be complicated to move people with your music

Kiddo is band of siblings, and they’re all equally talented as vocalists, instrumentalists and even dancers. Among their influences, they count everyone from Bob Dylan to Alice Cooper, and Mumford & Sons to AC/DC. But after 18 years of jamming together, they’ve narrowed their interests down into the indie folk genre, and have really honed their sound. They experiment with different line-ups and different sounds, but always stay true to who they are: extremely talented beasts. They do an absolutely wicked version of “Hallelujah” which you can find a video of on their Facebook band page. It really showcases the incredible vocal talents of the lead singer and his baby sis, as well as the incredible and simple musicality of what they do.

Kiddo really shows us that you don’t have to be complicated to get people interested in your music. You just have to be soulful and not be afraid of baring your soul for others to hear. They’ve already done that once for their Emergenza audience, and it got them a ticket to the semi-finals of the competition. Now, they’re getting ready to do it again on stage at The Espy on the 19th. Do not miss your chance to see this band. Their incredible talent and soulful delivery will give you chills!
