    DANISH Tasty As Ever

Young jazz-rock band from Melbourne, Danish, fixes our sugary cravings at The Espy on the 19th for the semi-finals

Danish have one common interest (aside from devouring enormous pastries): that is playing music. They put on a great light-hearted, and energetic stage performance that will have you all moving to their unique alternative brand of jazz-rock. They breezed right through the first round of the Emergenza Festival and are now getting ready for their semi-final gig. You won’t want to miss them. If their name isn’t appetizing enough, Danish has a funky, jazzy groove that is sure to get you hooked. Professional recordings are still in the works, so you’re going to have to hang tight for their first EP. And for now you’ll have to settle on a small dose of the Danish to satisfy your cravings. They’ve just put their first single “Above You” on their Soundcloud page.

The song starts off with the classic drum count, upbeat keys, and funky guitar, and then the lead guitar comes in with some bluesy noodling on the lead guitar, which opens the way for the oh-so-sweet, soulful and honest sounding female vocals. Trust me, you’ll be singing along with it before the song is even finished! This band has come so far since their first show in the Emergenza Festival. And they will go far yet. Don’t miss out on your chance to see another one of their energetic performances at The Espy on the 19th for the semi-finals!
