Garage Band WOODEN TONGUE Pays Their Dues On Stage

This young Sydney band is spending all of its free time on stage, earning its rock and roll chops, and can’t wait to show you what’s in store for the semi-finals at The Factory Theatre on the 18th

Young garage rockers from Sydney, Wooden Tongue, plan to pay their dues in the garage and on stage, as they work their way up the rock and roll ladder. They only formed late last year, but have been writing and performing as often as they can. As far as their sound goes? Well, they twist their influences from bands like Queens Of The Stone Age, Eagles Of Death Metal, Elvis, BRMC and The Black Keys, to create a mix of, as they say, “70's crunch, modern day swagger, drop your panties rock and roll and stay in your head, danceable tunes”. Wooden Tongue admits that each live show is a bumpy ride for now, but they always seem to make it through.

Since the last show, they’ve been gigging tons and even had a residency at the Moonshine Bar in Manly for the month of August. They’d agree that playing small venues is cheaper than renting an expensive studio space, and quite frankly, they’ve got the right idea! They’re planning on paying their rock and roll dues on stage. They’ve been writing extensively since the last gig as well, and have a whole new set list ready for this Friday’s concert, where they’re set to battle it out in the semi-finals of the Emergenza Festival. Come down to The Factory Theatre on the 18th and let them try to win you over with their raw brand of garage rock and roll!
