These guys have been exploring their musical connection from their school days together at Rowville Secondary College, where they were active members of the music program, and they finally began getting serious about their sound around 2010. You can definitely pick up influences of guys like John Mayer in their sound, but The Mere Poets have a musical soul unmistakably their own. The first track “Just For Eternity” is a crazy mix of epic pop rock, melancholy jazz, and soulful bellowing vocals, all combined to deliver an extremely emotional ride that will likely leave you with chills at the end of the 4 minutes and 47 seconds of the song.
