It’s a testament to the dedication this band has that, despite living 300km away from each other, they’re still able to get it together to put on a rocking live show for their Emergenza audience. They’ve already managed to woo you once, slipping their way into the mix for the semi-finals. If you didn’t have the chance to see them and you’re curious about their sound, well, they like to describe it using words like “folk, wit, and eels”, and then twist them around into a musical metaphor: “our sound is a well-lubricated eel slipping between the deep ocean rocks of folk and alternative music with a sharp sardonic wit that captivates any audience willing to relax and go with the tide.”
If that doesn’t satisfy your curiosity, well, you could always give one of their two full-length albums a listen, which you can find on their band website. But they have gone through some line-up changes along the way, so not all songs are true to their most recent incarnation. Well that just settles it. If you really want to get the full effect of Mischievous Thom, you’re just going to have to come down to The Espy on the 16th this month to see them play the Emergenza semi-finals!
