This modern metal band knows how to rock out like old-school metal heads. They give their heart and soul with every one of their performances on stage and are ready to set the stage on fire at The Factory Theatre on the 20th of October for the semi-finals of the Emergenza competition. Be sure to be there when it all goes down. Before the show, and between time in the studio and in rehearsals, they take a break to sit down with Emergenza and answer a few of our questions.

FOR THOSE WHO DIDN’T GET TO SEE YOU IN THE FIRST ROUND, CAN YOU TELL US A BIT ABOUT THE MUSIC OF CHRONIC?
Chronic is all about the new sound of modern metal, yet sticking to the roots of old-school metal sound i.e., brutal and heavy.

WHAT’S A LIVE CHRONIC PERFORMANCE LIKE?
We always give our heart and soul while performing on stage; and it is well-evident by the energy displayed by us and as well as, by our supporters when we perform, and of course the mosh,the head-bangings and even the stage-dives!

WHAT WAS THE HIGHLIGHT OF THE FIRST ROUND FOR YOU?
The crowd response and support was definitely the best one we ever had! The number of people involved in moshing and head-banging (and even the stage-dives!) while we performed were truly spectacular!

CAN YOU TELL US MORE ABOUT YOUR EXPERIENCE IN THE FIRST ROUND AND WHAT YOU LEARNED FROM IT?
Came across some good people, and good bands as well. We took this experience as a great opportunity to expose our music to a whole new level of audience.

SO HOW DOES IT FEEL BEING ONE STEP CLOSER TO THE EMERGENZA FINALS?
Very curious and excited! We are ready as ever to set the stage on fire again!

WHAT HAVE YOU BEEN UP TO BETWEEN GIGS AND WHAT HAVE YOU BEEN DOING TO PREPARE FOR THE NEXT PHASE OF THE COMPETITION?
We've been working on our upcoming debut EP which is set to be released within first quarter of 2014, and also, we are trying to improve our live sound trying different possible approaches with whatever we have.

HOW ARE YOU PLANNING TO PROMOTE FOR YOUR UPCOMING GIG?
Create an event page in Facebook and every other forms of media like youtube, local magazines, word-of-mouth, etc.

WHAT ARE YOU LOOKING FORWARD TO THE MOST ABOUT THIS ROUND IN THE SEMI-FINALS?
We are really looking forward to play in bigger venue for this round (which is the Factory Theatre in Marrickville), and also we are all excited to perform our couple of new originals upon which we have been working very hard for past couple of months. Lastly, looking forward to meet new bands who are sharing stage with us on that night and meet new good people & audience!!
