    A.M.O.R.A. All Spelled Out

Pumped up by their experience in the first round, AMORA tells us what they look forward to most about the semi-finals in Sydney on the 20th

Sydney band AMORA mixes elements of thrash, death, and black metal with lots of groove to come up with their unique sound. They had quite the showing during the first round of the Emergenza Festival in Sydney and are now looking forward to gracing the stage for the semi-finals. Don’t miss your chance to see them then. In the meantime, enjoy this one-on-one with the band, where they explain all about their sound and their experience so far in the festival.

CAN YOU GIVE US A BRIEF INTRODUCTION TO THE SOUND OF A.M.O.R.A.?

Mid to fast paced metal, thrash, death, black and groove: if you mix that up, that’s AMORA.

WHAT WAS THE HIGHLIGHT OF THE FIRST ROUND FOR YOU?

After the show we had a bunch of people wanting to take photos with us, and we were offered another gig, which put the icing on the cake.

WHICH ONE OF YOUR SONGS DO YOU FEEL SPEAKS TO THE FANS AND REPRESENTS THE BAND THE BEST?

It would have to be “Indoctrination” or “Relentless”. We think the fans like those two, but the song that represents AMORA the most hasn't been played live yet. But it will be played on the 20th.

UP TO THIS POINT, WHAT WOULD YOU SAY HAS BEEN THE BAND'S BIGGEST ACCOMPLISHMENT?

Staying together as a band. We have had so many line-up changes because of disagreements, lack of commitment, and injury.

WHAT WOULD YOU SAY HAVE BEEN YOUR BIGGEST OBSTACLES SO FAR?

    Time, money, and line-up changes.

HOW DOES IT FEEL BEING ONE STEP CLOSER TO THE EMERGENZA FINALS?

Awesome. The crowd is good at Emergenza gigs and they’re not snobs. They are open to all music.

WHAT DO YOU HOPE TO TAKE AWAY FROM YOUR UPCOMING CONCERT AT THE FACTORY THEATRE?

If we make it through it would mean a lot, but I think just watching the crowd have a good time would be enough.

WITH OTHER BATTLE OF THE BANDS COMPETITIONS AROUND, WHAT MADE YOU CHOOSE EMERGENZA?

Emergenza contacted us years ago to play and we said we would but shit happened and we couldn't play. So once we were ready, we went looking, and here we are.
