Four-piece band of rock and roll brothers, Nikhail, are getting geared up for their upcoming gig at The Espy, and so should you. They have quite a few numbers up their sleeves that they already know are crowd pleasers. And they’re looking forward to rocking them out on stage again the first chance they’ve got. They’re hell bent on getting through the next round and playing at The Hi-Fi, so don’t miss your chance to come down and give them your vote at semi-finals. They go on stage at The Espy on the 18th, and before the show they hang out to talk to Emergenza.

FOR THOSE WHO DIDN’T GET TO SEE YOU IN THE FIRST ROUND, CAN YOU INTRODUCE US TO THE BAND?
Nikhail is a four-piece rock and roll band made up of two sets of brothers: Damian and Tim Boult on drums and bass, and Steve and Teddy Nugent on vocals and guitar.

WHAT WAS THE HIGHLIGHT OF THE FIRST ROUND FOR YOU?
The highlight of the first round was probably getting to perform our new song “Sad Woman” which went off with the crowd. That was a real stand out moment and highlight for us all.

OUT OF ALL THE SONGS YOU PLAYED, WHICH ONE GOT THE BIGGEST REACTION OUT OF THE CROWD AND WHY DO YOU THINK THAT IS?
The last song of the night, “Young As You Feel”, is a song that we have always finished with, as it clearly has awesome groove and is a crowd favourite time after time.

CAN YOU TELL US MORE ABOUT YOUR EXPERIENCE IN THE FIRST ROUND AND WHAT YOU LEARNED FROM IT?
The first round wasn't so much a learning experience in as much as it was yet another great opportunity for us to showcase our ability and why we feel we are perfect for the Emergenza Festival big stage in Europe!

SO HOW DOES IT FEEL BEING ONE STEP CLOSER TO THE EMERGENZA FINALS?
It’s pretty awesome knowing that we have got one step closer to the big stage. And the further we go we know the bigger this Emergenza monster gets... and we love to feed off the energy!

WHAT DO YOU HOPE TO TAKE AWAY FROM YOUR UPCOMING CONCERT AT THE ESPY?
I guess the main thing we want to take from this upcoming show at The Espy... is a spot at the Hi-Fi Bar.

HOW ARE YOU PLANNING TO PROMOTE FOR YOUR UPCOMING GIG?
We will promote the way we always promote, the good old fashion hard working way, by getting out there and in the thick with our fans (which we like to call addicts). We will get them psyched and pumped to the point that they won't want to miss this show!

WITH OTHER BATTLE OF THE BANDS COMPETITIONS AROUND, WHAT MADE YOU CHOOSE EMERGENZA?
There are a lot of battle of the band comps out there, that really have nothing to offer... but Emergenza offers the real prize musicians want, the opportunity to play some of Australia's best venues, and let’s not forget, the chance to play on the big stage in Europe
