    Tête-à-tête with TURN FROM TEMPTATION

Metal band Turn From Temptation sits down with Emergenza before their show at The Factory Theatre to let us in on what’s about to go down there in Sydney on the 19th

This Sydney metal band takes the stage with a bang and leaves with a big finish, which makes their shows unforgettable. Before they hit the stage at The Factory Theatre on the 19th for the semi-finals, they’re tightening their stage performance even more, as well as working on some new material, which may or may not be debuted on stage. You’ll just have to go to the concert to find out! Meanwhile, they hang out with Emergenza and answer a few of our questions before the big concert date.

FOR THOSE WHO DIDN’T GET TO SEE YOU IN THE FIRST ROUND, CAN YOU TELL US A BIT ABOUT THE MUSIC OF TURN FROM TEMPTATION?
We like our music to have variety. Our signature sound is based on metal, but we like to use influences from other genres and subgenres to draw in different audiences to our music.

WHAT’S A LIVE TURN FROM TEMPTATION SHOW LIKE?

In our live shows, we like to bring as much energy to the stage as possible. We try our best to keep the level of the show very high by engaging with audience through our music, and bringing character to the stage. We like to enter with a bang and always leave the stage with a big finish, leaving our performance memorable to the audience.

WHAT WAS THE HIGHLIGHT OF THE FIRST ROUND FOR YOU?

Our biggest highlight of the first round of Emergenza was playing to a big audience and being able to play on one of the most well known stages in Sydney.

CAN YOU TELL US MORE ABOUT YOUR EXPERIENCE IN THE FIRST ROUND AND WHAT YOU LEARNED FROM IT?

The first round was a great experience for us, as it was the biggest show we have played to date. It was amazing having so many people cheering and screaming to us, we could have played for another two hours with the amount of hype we got from the audience. We plan to improve on our stage presence before we play the semi-final round, so we can guarantee an amazing show for those who are coming to see us.

SO HOW DOES IT FEEL BEING ONE STEP CLOSER TO THE EMERGENZA FINALS?

It is an unbelievable feeling. We are so stoked to play the semi-finals. We hope to make it all the way as this would be a great break for Turn From Temptation. It’s quite amazing that we may have the chance to spread our music all the way to Germany and be part of such an awesome festival.

WHAT HAVE YOU BEEN UP TO BETWEEN GIGS AND WHAT HAVE YOU BEEN DOING TO PREPARE FOR THE NEXT PHASE OF THE COMPETITION?
For the past couple of months we have been quite busy with the band. We recently have finished recording our debut EP This Is Our Reality, and we have been in the process of organising the release date. We have also been writing new material and practicing two to three times a week to make our performance as tight as possible for the next round.

HOW ARE YOU PLANNING TO PROMOTE FOR YOUR UPCOMING GIG?

We are going to be promoting the gig any way possible. We always start by promoting the gig to our fans on the social network (Facebook, Twitter, MySpace). And we are planning to get flyers made to hand out to our local public.

WHAT ARE YOU LOOKING FORWARD TO THE MOST ABOUT THIS ROUND IN THE SEMI-FINALS?

We are mostly excited about playing to a big audience on an even bigger stage. We really hope to give the audience a great performance and hopefully make it to the final round.
