    In the Words of CARMERIA

Sydney symphonic metal band CARMERIA speak with Emergenza before their gig at The Factory Theatre on the 18th

If you haven’t heard of Carmeria yet, now’s your chance. They sit down with Emergenza before their show on the 18th of October to let us in on who they are, what performing means to them, and what they’re looking forward to about their upcoming gig.

FOR THOSE WHO DIDN’T GET TO SEE YOU IN THE FIRST ROUND, CAN YOU TELL US A BIT ABOUT WHO CARMERIA ARE?

We’re a Sydney based, symphonic metal band.

WHAT ARE CARMERIA LIKE ON STAGE?

Come to the show and find out.

WHAT WAS THE HIGHLIGHT OF THE FIRST ROUND FOR YOU?

The highlight was definitely the overwhelming support from our fans, seeing them front and centre (some singing along) really had an unexpected impact. You could feel that they were enjoying watching our set just as much as we enjoyed playing for them.

CAN YOU TELL US MORE ABOUT YOUR EXPERIENCE IN THE FIRST ROUND AND WHAT YOU LEARNED FROM IT?

The first round opened our eyes to how important our music is to others. It has motivated us to continue to work hard and put on the best live shows we can for all of the people who trek it out to see us.

SO HOW DOES IT FEEL BEING ONE STEP CLOSER TO THE EMERGENZA FINALS?

It’s exciting because we get to share some amazing stages with some amazing local bands.

WHAT HAVE YOU BEEN UP TO BETWEEN GIGS AND WHAT HAVE YOU BEEN DOING TO PREPARE FOR THE NEXT PHASE OF THE COMPETITION?
Last month we supported FLYLEAF for the Sydney leg of their national NEW HORIZONS tour at the Metro Theatre, it was our first international support and a great experience. We also just released our debut EP Awakening and are excited to finally have another medium for sharing our music.

HOW ARE YOU PLANNING TO PROMOTE FOR YOUR UPCOMING GIG?

As many ways we can! Including, putting our guitarist in a chicken suit with a massive poster/sign for the event and sending him for a run through the streets of Sydney.

WHAT ARE YOU LOOKING FORWARD TO THE MOST ABOUT THIS ROUND IN THE SEMI-FINALS?

The thought of playing at The Factory Theatre, and possibly advancing to the next round.
