‘Back Down’ CHRIS WATTS is Coming

Melbourne artist Chris Watts and his band are hard at work in the studio finishing up their debut album Back Down, and in the meantime before the release, they plan to grace the stage at the Epsy

Local Melbourne artist CHRIS WATTS brings bright melodies- with an almost Alex Turner style vocal- to his otherwise straight forward rock, at times reminiscent of bands like Kings of Leon. He does this all while never giving up his super smooth pop appeal. With this formula, the CHRIS WATTS band is bound to be a crowd pleaser at their upcoming gig at the Epsy. They’ve already used The Grace Darling Hotel, The Brunswick Hotel, and Revolver as ‘rehearsal’ spaces, although they’ve actually been putting most of their energy in the studio lately, in an attempt to grow the band in a more mature direction.

Pictures on his Facebook band page of bundles of drumsticks broken in studio are testament to the amount of time spent and sweat poured out in that location. It’s taken them over two years, but now they are finally close to releasing the finished product of all their work. The songs you can now stream on his site are all part of the master plan for the Back Down album, planned for release in early 2014 at the latest. Aside from those songs already released, he’s got another six just awaiting the mixing board. Before the release, you can’t miss out on the opportunity to see the band play live. They’re preparing a great show for you guys on the 22nd at the Epsy, so be there, or be square.
