Melbourne band THE BRINKSMEN started writing their original material about four years ago and have since blossomed into the well-rounded act that they are today. And, contrary to the name, THE BRINKSMEN are not all men. Baby sis joined the band after a few years of the brothers jamming together, and now this family band has the full package: bass, guitar, drums, two keyboards, and several vocalists, which all help to fill out their classically stacked vocal harmonies. Imagine vocals inspired by Chris Isaak with guitar pulled out of Dire Straits, with perhaps a little Mama’s and Papa’s thrown in the mix.

Particularly in their song “Drive”, which you can stream on their Triple J page, there’s a real “California Dreamin’” feel to the hook and an over all sombre tone, which speaks to the real depth of this band.
