8th Edge is the first band on stage for this showcase night.

A rock’n’roll band is sure to get the crowd in the right mind set as they take the stage for some live entertainment.

Opening the semi-final round of the Emergezna Festival at the X&Y Bar in Brisbane, 8th Edge is a local Rock’n’Roll band with lots of talent and musical poise. The four boys have been together for at least 7 years now (they admit to being a bit fuzzy on the actual calculation) and have put together a number of original pieces.

Featuring all of the must-haves in a rock band – like a tight rhythm section and powerful lead guitar – 8th Edge are a tight ensemble both musically and on stage. Their live performance is energetic and engaging and their musical repertoire ranges from upbeat pieces such as Lady Boy to the more ballad-like, mellow sounds of This Life. The ease with which they pass from melodic intros to almost punk-like beats is a true sign of their versatility – a very welcome quality in a musical band.

After their May show in the first round of the Emergenza Music Festival, 8th Edge is now back for this semi-final round, from which the winners will be chosen for the final of the battle of the bands in Brisbane. The winner’s prize – a trip to Sydney to play the national final show in December. If their promo is as good as their music, chance of seeing them live on stage again soon are goooood!
