    SYDNEY AUG 30th BLOW OUT

Darby, The Ians, Ocean Alley, Cryptic Scorn, The Puppets, Dirty Dezire

Heat 10 and the competition gets fierce. Six bands enter and only one... well four leave... well they all leave and had a good time, just four happen to make it to the next round!

    DARBY
Bec O'Brien leads her band and the night along smoothly with folk music that runs rings around some of the pros. It is obvious that she and her band have creative and talented skills displayed throughout their set. I have said this once before, being the first band is not easy, how ever no sweat was broken and the crowd appreciated it all.

    The Ians
With a sarcastic streak of humor that they bring in their banter; The Ians, displayed a great performance of stellar rock that wowed not only the audience but the crew as well. They played a great set and they let it all out. Rock giants to come? Maybe so, check out more of this band.

    Ocean Alley
Big bands usually carry a big sound. But a calm cool and soulful experience from this 6 piece? That I didn't expect and neither did the audience. Wowing the crowd with a brilliant performance, getting everyone to dance along to their reggae stylings, it's a wonder how they have not hit it big yet. Won't be too long for this band

    Cryptic Scorn
Another big band, but not as reggae. Actually had nothing to do with reggae. If the name isn't a clue, well then "Cryptic Scorn" are F*cking Metal! Hard hitting beats, insane guitar riffs and a sound that rivals slayer, the band is going to hit the metal scene pretty big, bringing metal back?  Yup.

    The Puppets
This four piece rock band start out like any good rock band should ... strong. Without missing a single strum or beat, these guys carried an energy fueled crowd easily to their level and then some. Brilliant from start to finish, we will definitelyhear more from them.

    Dirty Dezire
I am sure that this band has a name of a porn movie I watched when I was in high school. Just like the movie, their performance was exhilarating, got you all worked up and when it ended you get that dirty feeling of shame for enjoying it a bit too much (because they happen to be Glam-rock). A flamboyant lead singer, a skilled guitarist, a joyful bassist and a trick heavy drummer... what more can you want?
