Sydney's August 29th heat number 9 was one that was intense from a stellar performance by our 4 bands. Each band brought their A game to center stage and displayed an audible delight to the ears of the audience.
Due to unforeseen circumstances 2 bands were not able to make it, and we wish them all the best and hope to see them in the future.
SWAP
Starting out the night, this rock band consisting of 5 talented individuals got the crowd hyped up and ready for the night. Very impressive vocals from their lead singer Tim would be impressive alone however enhanced by brilliant music and backing vocals from the rest that just work brilliantly as a collective. The most impressive part of their performance, this was their first gig this year and unknown to the audience it seemed like they been touring for quite a while.
A Gentleman's Agreement
Heavy by sound, heavy by nature. The four man group started out with heavy metal riffs that were fast, fun and f*cking awesome. Some might be mistaken there are 3 different vocalists in the group, however it all comes from the one guy. A fantastic drum solo that did not skip a beat and brought hype into the audience. If this is the future of metal... then one cannot wait.
Ready for the Fall
This four piece threw beach balls into the crowd, had a fun vibe and were fun to watch. Indie rock? Surfer punk? Nah uh... Hardcore! What? Yea I know right!!! This was a band who were slick and exciting with performance and surprisingly upbeat in parts. They played hard, heavy and fast. If the band "Offspring" were to have sex with "Trivium" , Ready for the Fall would be their children!
The Drawing Class
Enticing rock rhythms, sexy female vocals and a bassist that apparently isn't Ryan Gosling. Who is this band? None other than The Drawing Class; that's who! An energetic performance to say the least is what this band displayed with an aura of confidence. Masters at keeping the crowd jumping, entertained and happy. More to come from this band, THAT I am sure of
