This local Sydney band is just dying to get on that stage at the Lair and show you what raw, heavy rock and roll is all about. If you’re in the mood to have your face melted off by some serious hard rockers, you have to check out this band. They take their inspiration from some of the metal greats, like Pantera and Sepultura, but they have their own modern sound, all their own. Before they go on stage, they take time out to share their enthusiasm with us at Emergenza.

HOW DID YOU GET TOGETHER AS A BAND?
We all either knew each other previously or met through mutual friends, which made the formation of the band a lot easier. All having the same musical influence and drinking habits was what we found to be the key for keeping us together.

WHAT’S THE INSPIRATION FOR THE NAME?
Band name generator... we don’t fuck around.

IF YOU COULD DESCRIBE YOUR SOUND IN THREE WORDS, WHAT WOULD THEY BE?
Unique, Raw, and of course heavy!!!!!

WHAT’S YOUR PRACTICE SPACE LIKE?
For most of our time together it’s been in a garage (THE LAIR), but we've been hitting up St Rock Studios in Peakhurst the last couple of weeks to prepare. Always love both sounds these places produce.

WHAT MADE YOU DECIDE TO JOIN EMERGENZA?
Knowing the opportunities that are presented that can get us further toward our musical goals!

HOW ARE YOU PREPARING FOR THIS STAGE IN THE COMPETITION?
Constant practice and lots of alcohol! Knowing this is huge for us, our heads are all on the same page and in the right space.

WHAT ARE YOU LOOKING FORWARD TO MOST ABOUT THE FESTIVAL EXPERIENCE?
Playing at some great venues that we haven't had the chance to destroy yet and bringing our sound to a new audience.

WHAT WILL BE THE KEY TO MOVING YOU FORWARD THROUGH ALL THE STEPS OF THE COMPETITION?
Beer, bourbon, cider, and Most of all playing with our hearts on our sleeves and leaving nothing in the tank at the end of the show. Also bringing some new songs to the table to show ya's what we can really do!

HOW ARE YOU DIFFERENT FROM THE OTHER BANDS, AND WHAT MAY HELP TO GET YOU TO THE FINALS?
We are more than just a typical band. We are a family that would drop anything to help each other out. Our close bond and utmost respect for one another and our music shows greatly on the stage. That’s how a band should be!

WHAT DO YOU HOPE TO GAIN FROM THE EMERGENZA EXPERIENCE?
To get as far as we can! To prove to ourselves that our hard work is paying off. And to show people that Cryptic Scorn is a force to be reckoned with! Feel the fucking scorn!!!!!
