Sydney based, four-piece, post-hardcore band READY FOR THE FALL combines their nineties pop-punk, metal, and hardcore influences to create a totally unique sound. They are on fire with their dual guitar riffage, punk anthem choruses, violent breakdowns and hardcore screaming. Think bands like Escape the Fate, Black Veil Bride, Blink 182, and Sum 41. You can stream their song “Friends Are Forever (But Forever Isn’t)” on Facebook and Bandcamp and watch the teaser for their upcoming debut EP on YouTube as well as see some cool footage of the ‘behind-the-scenes’ recording process of their first single “City in Ruins”.
In the song, they incorporate a very typical hardcore call and response effect with hardcore screaming in the background over more melodic vocals. The theme is the typical nihilistic view of one pure soul who can’t find refuge in a world, which is crashing down all around them: “I see them turn and look away, there’s no escape from this mistake, you’re nothing more than dead men walking, I see them reaching to the sky, trapped in the world I left behind, what’s left but a city in ruins…”. Don’t miss your chance to see them live at the Lair this upcoming Sunday the 29th of August.
