    NEWS

Tall Hearts - the funky fun band from Sydney.

Quick interview with the band as they reveal a bit about their music and future plans for the band.

Please introduce us to the band.
Tall Hearts is made up of Liam Fickert on lead guitar, Elliott Darsana on rhythm guitar and vocals, myself (James Swanson) on drums and percussion, and we are currently in the process of finalising a position with a bass player.

Is there one of your songs that has a special or particular meaning to the band?

We have only released one single so far titled 'She Walked Back Through My Blues' which has a lot of significance to us because it was the first song we completed as a band. We're currently in the final stages of recording our debut EP which should be out within the next month.

What is your favourtie type of music to listen to? Does it resemble what you guys play?

We all come from a surfy background, so we all are really into artists like Ben Harper, Jack Johnson, Bob Marley and John Mayer, but we've also had past experiences with heavier music so we appreciate a variety of different styles of music. We try to take influences from lots of different artists so that we can broaden our own musical horizons, and make sure that there is something for everyone in the music we produce.

What contributes to the band's energy and enthousiasm?

We all have a love of music and have been playing our instruments for a number of years now, so this contributes to our enthusiasm. We love interacting with a crowd and really establishing a strong connection between us and them, so that no matter where we are, it always feels like we're playing to our friends and family

Are you guys in the process of writing any new material? Tell us a bit about it.

As i said before, we're currently in the process of finishing our debut 5 track EP, and this will be available in the next month or so. The release will have a range of different styles and influences, while still keeping to our Tall Hearts roots. The response from our first single release has been really positive, so we are hoping that people are just as excited about hearing the EP!

What would you like to take away from the show at The Lair?

From our show at The Lair, we want to take away more live stage experience, and we also are hoping to become friends with some of the other bands playing on the night as they all seem very talented!
