Russian Caravan heads for musical success on the scene.

A great sounding band that unites some talented young musicians brings us songs that are well written and showcase each musician’s forte.

Describing themselves as a ‘sophisticated’ indie rock band, Russian Caravan is a five piece from Sydney which came together in late 2012 as a platform for each musician to explore and express their musical passions. Each musician bring something different to this band, and their collective determination to make this work, is what adds to their sophistication. Having a lady-lead on the keyboards and vocals is a way the band is incorporating some of their individual inspiration into what they are doing on stage now. Personally I always love to see a girl on stage with bands – so they immediately score points with me.

Seeing as how all five musicians in the band are fairly young, they are still looking at finding the niche for their music and style. They are however on the right track as evidenced by the video they’ve got online where the crowd loves their performance. More experience and more practice will definitely benefit these guys, but for what they’ve started doing, they’ve sure come pretty far. These guys are very good at engaging their audience, not only by actively promoting their upcoming shows on their online band profiles but also by coming up with challenges for their audience such as ‘who will know all the words to this song’ by the time of the next show etc.

While the music does have an air of sophistication, the musicians who make up the band are looking to get as much experience playing live as they can. They’ve got a number of shows lined up where they can showcase their music and practice being sophisticated musicians. The next opportunity to see them live will be on July 7th as they play during the world’s largest battle of the bands – the Emergezna Music Festival. They will be playing at the Lair @ Metro where they look forward to playing for their current fans, but also to gaining new ones.
