Making music which they hope will stick with audiences long after they’ve stopped listening to it, this recently formed four-piece puts all their energy into making sure that happens. Several things set this band apart from other local acts, but the one that everyone will notice immediately is the lack of drummer on some tracks. While this is noticeable in the band’s formation, it’s not as obvious in the music. The musicians do a great job of hitting all of the right notes and tones with their instruments, in such a way that the drum could hardly be classified as ‘missing’.
These guys came together several months ago and have already written a number of songs which they hope will set them on the path to notoriety on Sydney’s local music scene – and hopefully beyond. Their music is well written and combined with a distinct vocal and guitar riffs that are thoroughly thought out, they are well on their way to achieving this goal. None of their songs sends the fun, rock’n’roll message as well as 69 Mustang. Encompassing all of the elements a rock song needs, this one really hits the spot. They are not strangers to music that’s a mellower, as evidenced by another track – Sweet Leaves.
Not lacking in energy or creativity in their performance, Riley Street Parade put on a show that has crowds dancing and signing as keenly as the band members themselves. They are currently preparing for their next live appearance – coming on July 6th at the Lair @ Metro. This will be a special show as it’s not just a chance for them to put on a great show, but also to move on and play other venues in Sydney as they make their way through the various rounds of the Emergenza Music Festival.
