    NEWS

Angel Awake opens our eyes to some things naughty… and nice.

Five energetic and determined artists with an eye and ear for music that makes sparks and keeps the crowd and listener on their toes.

A female lead always seems to add and edge to a band, especially, IMHO an alternative rock ensemble. The presence of Moggy’s vocal in Angel Awake is no exception. Not only is this a good mix musically and in terms of vocal sounds, but it also offers the band a unique opportunity as far as song writing is concerned, letting them represent a male & female perspective. The band emphasizes this duality in all aspects of their music - trying to cater to the mainstream, while staying true to themselves and in terms of balancing the good and evil in their lyrics.

Together since, the band has already enjoyed a fair bit of success and based on their music and drive, I suspect they are on the road to more. Not only have they played a number of shows on Sydney’s local music scene, they’ve also had the pleasure of opening up for some world-renowned acts (ie. Tea Party’s Jeff Martin). With songs like In Your Eyes, comprised of some classic rock/alternative riffs and arrangements, accompanied by the powerful vocal duo of Moggy & Sean they are the logical choice for a packed room.

Angel Awake will be performing at the Lair @ Metro on July 5th, as part of the Emergenza Festival – the world’s largest battle of the bands. They are hard at work preparing for the performance, even teasing the crowd with the possibility of a few new songs to be debuted on that night. Must have their 1,000+ Facebook fans salivating and rushing for their chance at seeing it first hand.
