The brain child of two talented artists, Limbo Sanctuary begun in 2012 as an indie pop rock project. The duo soon wanted to bring their music out of their rehearsal space and studio and decided it’s time to play live! They recruited a drummer and pianist and have since played a number of shows on Sydney’s local music scene, including the ever popular Scorcher Fest. Keeping with the festival format, the band has recently signed on to take part in the Emergenza Music Festival and will be showcasing their talents at the Lair @ Metro on July 5th.
Among their other successes is the steady climb of the songs up the triplejunearthed.com music charts. Listening to these pieces I can easily see why. The singer’s melodic vocal is in perfect synch with her acoustic guitar and the accompanying piano accentuates the arrangements in a subtle but vital way – making me very glad they’ve brought them on! Lost has been the band’s most successful song thus far, at least as far as charts are concerned – and for good reason. It exemplifies all of the band’s strengths both musically and lyrically.
Their brand of Indie/pop rock will fit right in on this night that seems to have been made for music like this. Playing in the company of other similar sounding bands is a big advantage for the musicians as they get to showcase their music to fans who already love this style. Riding on the more mellow side of the spectrum, Limbo Sanctuary offers a reflective and romantic respite for the evening’s proceedings.
