THE FALLEN ANGELS TALK ABOUT WHAT’S IN STORE

This Melbourne band gets us pumped for their killer live set at the Epsy this weekend

These guys have serious chops. Every one of their original grooves is more rock and roll than the next, filled with wailing lead guitar and soaring vocals. They promise you a live show absolutely exploding with on-stage energy, complete with guitarists jumping in the air, and vocals and lead guitar soaring into celestial territory. Do not miss out. Before the show, they’ve taken time out with Emergenza to share their enthusiasm for their live gig.

CAN YOU TELL US A BIT ABOUT THE FORMATION OF THE BAND?

The band is a very young group of guys from 18 to 24 years old. Lead guitarist David Fornaro is the founding member of the band. Sam (rhythm guitar) Adam Weimer (Bass) and Chris Coote (Drums) are very respected musicians in the Melbourne scene. David had contacted Aaron James whilst Aaron was overseas collaborating with Garry Beers of INXS and Steven Sidelnyk producer of Seal and Madonna. When he arrived back in Melbourne the band was official. Then came the Fallen Angels.

IF YOU COULD CHOOSE 3 WORDS TO DESCRIBE YOUR SOUND, WHAT WOULD THEY BE?

The Fallen Angels sound would be classified as Rock ‘n’ roll, current, pop.

HOW DID THE NAME THE FALLEN ANGELS COME ABOUT?

The name The Fallen Angels was created by David Fornaro. Basically we wanted to make a statement that we might be different but we can appeal to everyone.

WHERE ARE YOU GUYS PLAYING GIGS NOW, AND WHAT'S YOUR DREAM GIG?

We are currently in the grand final of a battle of the bands, so very excited to play that. We also have been performing festivals here in Melbourne and Interstate. Next week we head to Sydney for Sleazefest festival.

DO YOU HAVE ANY PLANS TO RECORD ANY TIME SOON?

We are currently in the process of writing a full-length debut album, but it’s still in the process. Just released an official demo called By My Side.

WHAT MADE YOU DECIDE TO JOIN EMERGENZA FESTIVAL?

We really want to be involved in the Emergenza festival because it’s our dream to perform to a big crowd overseas. We want our music to be heard all over the world and we know our music will mean something and touch people's hearts. We really want to connect with an international audience and we think Emergenza would be a great opportunity for TFA.

WHAT IS YOUR AUDIENCE IN STORE FOR WHEN IT COMES TO YOUR LIVE SHOWS?

What people will love about TFA live shows are the energy, the songs, the amazing stage presence and very unique vocals. We want to bring REAL music to the table and we know that people will respect us and enjoy the killer guitar riffs and sing along melodies.
