    SITTING DOWN WITH TWIN AGES

This Melbourne band takes the love for the blues to a whole new level and shares how that love may help them on their way to the festival finals

Reared by a group of blues musicians, this Melbourne band has technique and groove just oozing out of them. They say they just love the story of the blues and therefore want to tell it the right way. Well, they definitely do that. You’ve got the chance to witness them for yourself at the Epsy basement on the 22nd of June so don’t miss out. They recently took the time to talk to Emergenza about why they love doing what they do and how that love may help them get far in the festival, maybe even to Germany!

HOW DID YOU COME UP WITH THE NAME TWIN AGES?

We wanted to come up with two words to say, "we are all the same and the time is now." Hence, TWIN AGES.

WHERE DID THE LEAD GUITARIST PICK UP HIS SLIDE TECHNIQUE?

Well, growing up with our dads playing in the same blues band (The Rocket 88's) had its advantages! But the technique comes from the love of the story and wanting to tell it correctly.

WHAT DO YOU THINK MAKES YOU STAND OUT AS A BAND?

Our depth and our long enduring journey that has led us to a great beginning. What a favour we owe to play you great music!

WHERE HAVE YOU GUYS PLAYED IN THE PAST AND WHAT IS YOUR DREAM GIG?

We have played all over Melbourne. The Cherry, Espy, Pony, anywhere the beers are cold and the people are crazy. We couldn't tell you for we haven't played it yet.

WHAT ARE YOU LOOKING FORWARD TO THE MOST ABOUT PLAYING AT EPSY?

Getting to see a large variety of Melbourne bands whilst getting to rock St Kilda yet again.

WHAT PERSUADED YOU TO JOIN EMERGENZA FESTIVAL?

Well in the next year we were moving to Germany to play music and took it as a sign.

WHAT DO YOU THINK WILL HELP SECURE YOU A SPOT IN THE FINALS?

Our love for what we do.
