Describing their sound as progressive, melodic, and remorseless, this band doesn’t hold back. Seriously ‘liked’ by the Facebook crowd with well over 850 thumbs up, this band has no trouble getting their names and music out their, and they just can’t wait to rock the stage for you at the Epsy on the 21st of June. Before the show, they sit down with Emergenza to let us in on what their audience can expect.
WHAT’S THE INSPIRATION FOR THE NAME PROSTHESIS OF MIND?
A prosthesis represents the emulation of organic matter, the same can be applied to thought. Prosthesis of mind is a synthetic thought/consciousness that can only emulate organic truth.
CAN YOU DESCRIBE YOUR SOUND IN 3 WORDS OR LESS?
Progressive, melodic, remorseless.
YOU GUYS HAVE OVER 850 ‘LIKES’ ON YOUR FACEBOOK BAND PAGE. WHAT’S THE SECRET TO GETTING YOURSELVES OUT THERE?
We constantly remind the audience we are playing to to like us on Facebook. We also try and get our close friends to let their close friends know about our band.
THERE ARE FIVE OF YOU IN TOTAL. HOW DO YOU MANAGE GETTING ON THE SAME PAGE WHEN IT COMES TO YOUR SONG WRITING?
The songs usually start from just a couple of riffs and we build off that as a band. We discuss what should come next and how we want the song to feel, with input from all band members.
WHAT WAS THE MAJOR INCENTIVE FOR JOINING EMERGENZA FESTIVAL?
We were motivated to join the festival as we think it is a great experience to perform to a larger crowd and expand our audience. And to do it at a great venue such as The Espy is just a bonus.
WHAT’S YOUR STRATEGY FOR GETTING TO THE FINALS?
We plan to just have a great time on stage and provide the audience with great amusement.
CAN YOU LET US KNOW WHAT’S IN STORE FOR YOUR AUDIENCE AT EPSY ON THE 21ST?
We will be providing an energy packed performance with some new and classic material. We encourage the maximum level of crowd participation to create a great atmosphere and entertainment.
