SHADOW QUEEN won’t hide in the shadows

This Melbourne band works hard to keep their fans continuously supplied with new, original hard rock tunes and are eager to reveal their latest material

These guys are serious professionals, with a brand of shadowy hard rock all their own. Although they don’t fit into the classic pop-rock mold, their songs are nonetheless compelling, cool, and at times downright catchy. They’ve got the hard riff rock style down to a maddening science, which is softened oh-so slightly by the addition of female vocals. They’ve already released their first full-length, self-titled album, and are working on a video for one of the singles, entitled ‘Best of Me’. But before that comes out, you can check out several other live videos of their original tunes which you can conveniently find on their website. Watching the live, in studio version of their single ‘Silence’ is awesome. The way the vocalist, with her bass strapped on, opens up the song with an intricate, classical inspired keyboard bit, then coolly walks over to the mic stand to flawlessly front the band is just inspiring. If you’re jonesing to be blown away by an all out power rock and roll set, don’t miss your chance to see them rock at the Epsy on the 23rd of June. They are rock solid and will not disappoint you.
