SALAD DAYS looking forward to a rocking first round at the Epsy

Hard bent to label their music, this Melbourne band promises to offer you an eclectic revision of a hard, grunge rock and roll sound

According to Salad Days, they are a genre-less mix of different influences. But they don’t communicate confusion with their sound. They’ve got a garage spirit, which probably comes from their rehearsal set up, a garage. But from that locale comes a much more polished sound. There’s a California kind of funkiness that comes out in the riffs, which really structure their songs and help to drive them forward. This funk couldn’t compliment the vocals any better, which are filled with attitude and spunk. In fact the vocalist, ironically a classically trained jazz singer, could be the sound child of Anthony Kiedis and Alex Turner. For now, they are all a bit too busy with studies to take the time to do any serious recording. But after you hear their music, you will consider it your next major priority in life to get these guys into the studio more. Their single ‘Voices’, which you can stream from the Facebook page, will have you setting your music player to repeat. You just can’t get enough of this song and it will become exactly what the song’s lyrics talk about…. voices in your head. Don’t miss the opportunity to support them at their next live gig. They’ll be rocking out with many other local bands at the Epsy basement on the 23rd.
