MISCHIEVOUS THOM set to showcase songs from latest EP

4 years and various lineup changes have molded this band into the alt folk rock force it is today, and they are ready to share their new face to their fans

This Melbourne band is a force to be reckoned with. On the scene since 2008, they’ve survived several lineup changes, which have only proven to strengthen their sound and focus them on their musical path, all the while never holding up production. This prolific folk rock act has got an infinite number of original songs up their sleeves, which just keeps the suspension high in terms of what they will choose to perform for their Emergenza audience. They released their first album Kindness in Red in 2009 and have just recently released their latest album The Half Skies in April 2013. Out of all their tunes, which you can listen to for free on Jango, ‘Concrete’ is one of their standouts. Driven by a melody built off of subtle modulation and filled out with female vocals, this one is extremely compelling. They have a sound that borders on the melancholy, but they never sacrifice the progression of the song for pure emotion. Originally formed to compete in another battle of the bands festival, Mischievous Thom will know just what to do to win their audience over. So be sure to drop by the Epsy basement on the 23rd of June to see them play.
