Micropsia sits down with Emergenza to talk about their inspirations, experience, and their plans to conquer the Solar System. Inspired by true Rock and Rollers like Metallica, Muse, and the Foo Fighters, and named after some obscure psychological illness, this band hopes their experience will set them above the rest of the bands at this year’s Emergenza competition. They’ve won one battle of the bands before. Can they do it again?

FIRST OF ALL, WHAT'S THE INSPIRATION FOR THE NAME?
Phoenix was researching mental illnesses and discovered "Micropsia" or "Alice in Wonderland Syndrome" which is a mental illness where you hallucinate and objects and people appear to be miniature and you appear to be giant to yourself!

I SEE YOU’VE RECENTLY BEEN PEAKING ON THE REVERB NATION CHARTS. WHAT DOES THAT MEAN TO YOU AS A BAND?
It means the world! It's confirmation that we have a legit rock sound that people love to hear!

CAN YOU TELL US A BIT ABOUT YOUR FORMATION AND YOUR JOURNEY AS A BAND SO FAR?
Micropsia formed in early 2012. Bender and Chris had been jamming - with ex-Micropsia drummer Phil - for 3 years when they read an ad in Rave Magazine that Phoenix had written, boasting an album worth of music with the need for a lead guitar, bass and drums! Songs written over time by all were conglomerated and Micropsia was born. Late in 2012 ZAKKATAK replaced Phil on the drums and Micropsia has been all guns blazing ever since!

Metallica, Tool, Muse, The Offspring, Placebo, Foo Fighters.... we don't have enough time to list them all!

WHAT MADE YOU DECIDE TO SIGN UP FOR EMERGENZA?
WORLD TOUR!!! Micropsia are ready to ROCK!! We want to hit the road and live it as a lifestyle! Who would pass up on the opportunity to win an original band comp with a world tour attached?

IT SEEMS YOU GUYS HAVE ALREADY HAD LUCK IN THE BATTLE OF THE BANDS DEPARTMENT. IN WHAT WAYS DO YOU THINK YOUR PREVIOUS EXPERIENCE IS PREPPING YOU FOR EMERGENZA?
Experience really helps. You know what to expect, you know how the nerves work, and most of all, it helps to try and produce a good quality full show in a short set.

WHAT IS IT THAT WILL SET YOU APART FROM OTHER BANDS IN THE FESTIVAL? AND WHAT’S YOUR GAME PLAN FOR GETTING TO THE FINALS?

The goal for Micropsia is to conquer this solar system world with rock and roll! A few years from now you will see us playing a festival world tour preparing to blast off into Space!
