    NEWS

Carmeria unites the love of music with the desire to express oneself.

Putting aside showmanship and other such bells and whistle, these guys – and ladies – focus on putting together a musically and emotionally charged artistic performance.

Having been the recipient of much praise on their professional approach to the art of music, Carmeria is staying true to what they set out to do and what they stand for. The band is not just about music but also about an all encompassing message that is communicated as much through their music as it is through their appearance and song writing. Though formed just 10 months ago, they have established themselves on the local music scene and are reaching beyond the ‘local’ to solidify the name and reputation of this project. The five members came together out of a common respect for the art and share in many life experiences which have made the band what it is, and heavily influenced the themes of their songs.

Carmeria’s music is very well summarized in their song Safer to Run. It’s a song the band recorded and has spent a good amount of time promoting, it’s also one of their fav’s to play live. It’s easy to see why, the piece is melodic, yet the vocals pierce through with raw emotion giving it the progressive rock edge we expect. The five piece brings together two female vocals, something I personally find helps convey the powerfully emotional and passionate message they hope to get across.

The band is very active in promoting themselves, diligently keeping fans updated on the goings-on via their Facebook and Reverbnation pages. They’ve even made a special video, rounding up support for their upcoming show at the Lair @ Metro as part of the Emergenza Music Festival. They band will be playing alongside seven others, for a chance to advance to the festival’s next round and potentially an opportunity to showcase in Germany next summer.
