We need a whole lot more of Rock & Roll (and a lot less silence)

All reviews from the second show in Brisbane. Disparity, TrashQueen, Spook Hill, Here's To Neverland, Cartoon Physics, You People.

    Disparity

4 peice local quartet Disparity grooved their way through the first round of the emergenza heats, in style... with an all female rythm section these guys play really interesting indie pop tunes, with plenty of musical creativity.. A great mixture of guitar and bass intros, and nice harmonies from drummer Sarah, these guys will do well in this comp if they can smash it once again in the semi's! Well done guys!

    Trashqueen

Balls to the wall rock pig style, Trashqueen rocked the house on tuesday night with all out rock and roll, with influences from the 80's and 90s throughout their original tunes, was just a shame they couldn't get the support of the crowd to get through to the next round... Better luck next year..

    Snook Hill

Amongst all the young bands on show last night, we had a very cool and professional mature aged band that didn't disapoint for a second.. A cross between country, blues and rock these guys really showed the crowd they are an extremely talented act... Promoting their latest release and playing all original tunes, it was a shame these guys didn't progress to the next round.. Better luck next year guys!

    Heres To Never Land

5 peice Gold coast band Here's to neverland took to the stage last night and rocked the place with their catchy pop punk tunes, with female singer this band really knows how to enjoy themselves on stage and that was evident from the awesome crowd response they got.. Look forward to seeing this band in the semis..

    Cartoon physics

4 peice Rock act Cartoon Physics rocked the stage last night, with their original tunes... Probably the standout band in terms of showmanship with bass player getting up to all kinds of antics on stage... this will be a band to look out for in the next rounds...

    Crowbird

3 peice rock band Crowbird spearheaded by the one and only Greg McCrow rocked the stage last night with his Bon Jovi meets James hetfield vocals style, these guys tore the place up, swapped instruments multiple times during the set.. We'll see you in the semis!

    You People

This band unfortunately got the graveyard spot and hence made it difficult night for them, although the musicallity and originality of this band was really up there.. With great guitar riffs and the blend of 2 guitars and vocals, this band will definately have a future if they stick at it! A shame we won't see them in the semi's.
