Real Now
This high energy 4 piece started with a hand clapping number, getting the crowd onside with their indie pop styling’s. Fat bass riffs set the groove for front man Patrick to sing over. Some nice use of falsetto in the song ‘Liar’ was followed by an energetic drum break in the middle. During the song ‘This World’, bass player Max went into the crowd and brought the fans to the front. Rocking final number ‘You Say’ topped off a tight set with some more guitar rock moves in the crowd.
Sex St
Ripping straight into their set, Sex St set the tone straight away. This was Rock n Roll! Opening with a tune called ‘Down Fall’ that changed tempos regularly, Sex St made the crowd pay attention! Lead Singer and Guitarist Frazier has a true rock voice and is very well complimented by Lana on the bass and Jackson on the drums. The final song ‘Drugs in the Water’ got the crowd jumping! Sex St pumped out a killer set!
My Sons
My Sons delivered a set full of synth driven indie tunes. Lead singer and guitarist Aris has a voice comparable to Brian Molko (Placebo). A multi talented band with bass player Declan swapping between synth and bass for different songs, and drummer Ollie playing one handed drums and synth at the same time!
Melissa James Band
Vocals vocals vocals! Lead singer and front woman Melissa James is a brilliant singer who has teamed up with a very polished backing band. 3 singers on backing vocals completes what is a big band sound. A Hammond organ on stage brought a nice touch and Melissa’s stage presence brightened the room!
The Children of the New Forest
The Children of the New Forest have only been playing together for 2 and a half weeks, but they managed to bring the crowd from outside down into the basement. Led by front man Anthony’s guitar hooks and vocals, The Children of the New Forest delivered catchy tunes with under lying synth sounds and solid drumming.
