A quick chat profiling the band Disparity.

The boys and gal tell us all about their music and how they relate to fans.

What sets Disparity apart from other bands?
Even though Disparity is a rock band, we try to construct a wide variety of music for our audience, from Funk Rock, to Metal, to Acoustic Rock, all while maintaining a specific Disparity sound and feel, allowing us to communicate with a large variety of music lovers and fans.

What do you find to be your biggest challenge both musically and in terms of performance?
Our biggest difficulty is actually a result of what also gives us our large variety of sound. That being that all members of the band prefer different types of music to the others. This means when the band has to make a musical of performance decision everyone thinks that we should do what ever is specific to their preferred genre making it hard to come to conclusion on what we should do, on occasion. However we think that this challenge, that we have to constantly overcome, makes the band better and gives us the best of what several genres have to offer.

What are you looking forward to for the April show at the X and Y Bar? What are you trying to get out of the Emergenza festival?

For the show at the X and Y bar on the 2nd April, all we are really looking forward to and concentrating on just putting on a good show and having a great time. As for the Emergenza festival as whole, we're mostly trying to increase our fan base further, and to see how our music is received, obviously with it being a competition we are going to try and get as far in the competition as possible but our main focus is on the receptiveness of our music.

What are some of your tried and tested promotional means ?
When ever we have to promote an event our first port of call is Facebook and other social media as its really easy to set up and get word out there. Other strategies that we employed are things like advertising in a local magazine, or on the radio.

What would you like your fans to know about the band?
We would like our fans to know that we really appreciate their continued support, and we thank them for coming to our shows. We would also like our fans to know that we have an EP out for sale, of which we sell at all of our gigs. Also we would like them (if they haven't already) to like us on Facebook so we can tell them about future shows and projects. http://www.facebook..com/disparitymusic
