With a humorous, good nature and food based approach to their band, You People have been delighting the people of Brisbane for about a year now. With a sound that is reminiscent of some well known but no so commercial 80’s and 90’s bands, they are spending their time recording more songs and playing live shows to delight the masses. As music students, their attention to detail and technique is impeccable and very apparent.

Their songs are energetic, and each has a different way of communicating the band’s message. The one thing they all have in common is the way in which the vocalist manages to reach the audience, no matter how loud the instruments behind him get. The addition of vocal harmonies at just the right moment in the song completes the overall professional and well-crafted feel. Aside from awesome music, the band has some other successes to boast – such as being in the top 10 on Reverbnations’ pop chart – a noteworthy accomplishment for a new up & coming band.

They already have several live shows under their belt and are about to embark on the journey that will take them through the various rounds of the Emergenza Music Festival and a chance to take their music nation-wide. The adventure starts at the X&Y Bar on April 2nd.
